Accessibilty Information

There are stairs from ground level to both the foyer and auditorium. There are 6 steps from the street to our front door. There are 18 steps into the foyer and then 8 further steps into the auditorium. Once in the auditorium there is one step up to the luxuries and a further one step up to the luxury seats. There are two steps down to each row on the standard seats. We apologise that we currently have no provision for a lift as there isn’t space for one in the building and because of the numerous levels that already exist in the building.

We have baby changing units in both the Male and Female toilets.

We accept CEA cards which entitles you to free companion tickets. Visit the CEA website for more details, or ask our staff members for an application form.

Relaxed Screenings

Our Relaxed Screenings are suitable for anyone who wants a more casual viewing experience at The Regal. In these screenings it is acceptable to make noises and move around the auditorium and we have made adjustments to the way we show the film to make it more comfortable and enjoyable for our customers who may find the normal viewing experience too overwhelming or restrictive.

In other areas we have clear signage to navigate the cinema and staff are wearing uniform and name tags to help guide customers. If you would like to prepare for your visit to The Regal we have created a social story here that you can edit ahead of time.

Tickets are £7 and carers can come for free with a CEA card. Please see our brochure for films and dates.

Dementia Friendly Screenings

Our Dementia Friendly screenings are designed to allow anyone with any form of dementia to visit the cinema in a relaxed and enjoyable manner. In these screenings we have made a number of adjustments to create an environment that is as accessible as possible whilst also giving our customers the enjoyment of a positive outing.

Tickets are £7, carers can come for free with a CEA card and we will provide free tea, coffee and biscuits. Please see our brochure for films and dates.

Baby Friendly Screenings

Our Baby Friendly screenings are a relaxed environment in which to watch films from our normal program with your little one.

These screenings are for babies two and under. Please book tickets for the number of adults that will be attending.

Lights will be left on throughout the film and the volume will be quieter, to create a calm environment for you to enjoy the film with your baby.

We are breast-feeding friendly and have baby changing facilities available in both male and female toilets.

Please note, we don’t have much space for pushchair storage so we would appreciate it if you could come without one or fold it up in the downstairs foyer.

Please see our brochure for films and dates.

Screenings for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Our Captioned Screenings feature audio description on screen and are suitable for customers who suffer hearing difficulties or are completely deaf. Descriptive subtitles provide a detailed description of additional sounds that are part of the film eg: ‘doors creaks’ ‘phone rings’ and songs, often with lyrics. Captioned Screenings will be listed in the programme.

For our hard of hearing customers we have headsets available that play audio from the film in-ear. A member of staff at the bar will be happy to supply these for you prior to the screening. We recommend you bring your own headphones but we can provide them if needed.

Audio Description

For our partially sighted or blind customers our headsets can also play audio description. Our headsets play a specially recorded narrative which describes what’s happening on screen but doesn’t interfere with the film’s dialogue. A member of staff will be happy to supply these for you prior to the screening. We recommend you bring your own headphones but we can provide them if needed.
